rippers

What a bummer. We are sad to report that a company known for buying handmade from Etsy and reproducing cheap versions of the work without artist permission has struck our little Etsy store. Anybody know a good copyright lawyer in Virginia? If you see one of these little guys in Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, or World of Mirth, please let us know.

Oh man, that really sucks. I wish you luck in finding a good lawyer and getting these ripoffs taken off the shelves.

ugh! so sorry to hear that, it is the worst to be ripped off. :( I hope something can be done!

It just amazes me that they have the gall to make such a direct rip off. You'd think they would at least change it slightly to avoid some degree of guilt. My heart goes out to you. All the very very best with dealing with it.

Boooo... What a piece of work when small works of labor and love are kidnapped and held prisoner in the large markets of the world. Thumbs down!

I'm SO sorry guys ! That really sucks :( Good Luck. I'm from Lexington VA were Wahington & Lee Law school is located. The students takes cases for free and do a great job because they are graded.

This is why we should all avoid the big retailers, and buy direct from the artist whenever possible! I know this sounds weird, but I've lived in my current city for 7 years, and have yet to go into the mall.

WOW! You know, I remember years ago when Alison and I were touring in Philly and we had all this handmade merch, some kids at our show warned us about Urban Outfitters.

There HAS to be a way for you to get compensated at the very least. Anything you make has an automatic copyright on it, so if you can prove that you made it first, I would think that you probably have a good case.
Keep us updated. Hope it goes well.
